🌟 Embracing Our Neurospicy Family 🌟

Hello, fabulous parents and guardians! 👋

Imagine this: you’re in a room full of medical professionals, and you casually refer to your family as “neurospicy.” Yes, you heard that right—neurospicy! (A huge thanks to Jenna from Qualified Tutor for the inspiration! 🌶️🧠)

Let me introduce you to my youngest whirlwind, Roni, who is 7 and proudly rocking his ADHD diagnosis. A few months ago, we made the big decision to start him on medication, and it’s been a game-changer!

The Journey Begins: Melatonin Magic ✨

We kicked things off with melatonin in the evenings. Roni used to be up until 11 PM, wide awake and ready to party. Now, he’s out like a light between 8-9 PM, and I finally have a bit of my evening back! 🙌

Enter: The Daytime Medication Adventure 🚀

Next, we tried daytime medication—Ritalin (though it has a fancy new name now). After a few weeks of trial and error, we settled on a fast-release medication twice a day. Does it always go smoothly? Not quite. One day, the school forgot to give Roni his lunchtime dose. The result? A very creative Roni who painted himself, his shirt, and the furniture. I could’ve told him off, but instead, I chose to roll with it. Parenting a neurospicy kiddo is a wild ride, and sometimes, you just have to hang on and enjoy the view.

Next Steps: Medicate the Sibling? ⏳

Now, we’re gearing up for another adventure with another child, waiting for a new appointment to see if medication will be the right path for them too.

In Conclusion: Embrace the Spiciness! 🌶️❤️

To all the parents out there on a similar journey, my advice is simple: embrace the neurospicy life. It’s colorful, chaotic, and filled with unexpected moments of joy. And remember, you’re not alone. We’re all in this spicy adventure together!

Stay fabulous and keep rolling with those waves!

Love,
Odette 🌟

P.S. Pray the school doesn’t forget the meds next time! 🙏😂
